My Gardening Background... have more than 25 years of practical gardening experience. My career began with my market garden business selling organic produce to restaurants. I set up and ran the kitchen garden at the Nick Nairn cook school for 10 years, supplying veg, salads and cut flowers.
I spent 6 years creating my own 6 acre garden in Stirlingshire from scratch – containing a woodland, flower garden, cut flowers, prairie garden, orchid meadow and veg garden - an amazing experience, full of costly and hard won lessons and I am proud that I've learned from my own mistakes. I can now pass on my knowledge and save clients money by advising them what to buy and plant and what to pass over when plant shopping. I spent a year working in my local plant nursery and have been working as an independent consultant and designer since spring 2015. I am a pre-registered member of the The Society of Garden Designers. I've planted thousands of plants, many of which I have propagated myself from cuttings, divisions and seed. My joy of producing plants for free steered me towards helping beginners discover the thrill of propagation and I get a huge kick watching others get the gardening bug! I encourage sustainability in gardens, love to teach composting and support those who wish to be a little greener. In my local community, I designed and created an allotment for our local primary school and headed up the garden team there. I strongly believe that all children should have an opportunity to grow their own food and enjoy gardening. Phone: 07773 590516
